Stay in the heart of the city, connected to some of KL’s most fabulous shopping and dining in the The Intermark, at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur.  The Deluxe Suite where I called home was one of the prettiest suites I’ve stayed in here in KL, with a separate office and living room and then a spacious bath and bedroom.  In addition to loving the interiors of my suite, I also slept like a baby … so if you’re there for business and have an important meeting, you’ll step out in perfect form!  Well rested from your suite and pampered from the Club Lounge experience.

Why You’ll Love DoubleTree KL

• Great location!  You can walk right out your door for tons of fab shopping, food, and happy hour spots.
• Club Lounge!  They have a wonderful selection of food (that’s really tasty!) for brekkie, afternoon tea, and their lively happy hour.
• Tosca!  Their Italian restaurant Tosca is presided over by Executive Sous Chef Filippo Giunta and hand-on-my-heart serves up the best PIZZA I’ve eaten in KL.  I went twice during my stay and once I chatted with another KL local, who is an Italian expat, and he happily confessed that Tosca is his go-to Italian hotspot.

Deluxe Suite

The deluxe suites at DoubleTree are decorated using a combination of subtle shades of nature, light woods, and splashes of soft colour here and there to make them absolutely pleasing to the eye and a joy to come home to night after night.  I was there three nights and happily bounced from the office, to the living area to chill at night with some wine and a movie, and then the bedroom.  Ohhh and that bath was very cosy!

The suites feel spacious and functional, while remaining cosy and warm.  I absolutely loved that room!

TIP: If you’re not a Hilton HHonors member, be aware that they charge for normal Internet access.  My first 2 nights I had complimentary access to the normal Internet service, so I hadn’t realised that it was an issue.  However, the 3rd night I had to either pay a high fee to access the normal Internet or use their complimentary access, which I tried but it restricted virtually all multimedia content.  It felt like I was back in the early 2000s because only email and basic text/graphics were accessible. My tip is to use a Malaysia Hotlink SIM and tether off your phone like I did.  1 GB of fast 4G data costs only 3 Ringgits (USD$0.67), much lower than what DoubleTree was charging.

Executive Lounge

Between their VIP check-in for Executive Floor and Hilton HHonours Club guests and the wonderful table service they offer at the Club, I found myself spending tons of time there.  In fact, I almost never eat brekkie outside my room but I did it twice there because it was truly tempting.  The staff is great about finding that balance between being attentive and standing back … and they are happy to ensure you have everything you’re heart desires morning or night.

Tosca – Italian Expats Love It!
