The Mulia on Nusa Dua Bay – Suite Luxury Beach Life in Bali

Looking for the best 24/7 butler service in Bali?  Pan-Asian cuisine that will delight your palette?  A suite that is SO expansive, with so many separate rooms and areas, that you’ll feel right at home straight away?  Then you’ve found your holiday home at The Mulia, the best 5-star all-suites property on the beach in Nusa Dua.  Because when it comes to pampering guests to perfection and elegantly packaging up comfort and a luxury lifestyle … well, they do one of the best jobs of it on the island.  Check out my video to see for yourself:

Why You’ll Love The Mulia

  • The Mulia feels very exclusive and private
  • In 2016, The Mulia made Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s GOLD LIST (USA) for their impeccable quality
  • Each restaurant is presided over by an executive chef who is focused and specialised on one cuisine, resulting in a truly memorable culinary experience throughout your stay
  • The beach is tended to in such a meticulous way that it is the most pristine white sandy beaches I personally saw on the island, with private life guards on duty on the sand until 18:00 each day
  • Their Sunday Brunch is one of the TOP 5 brunches on all of Bali, with its full-scale debauchery served up in a truly elegant setting

The Room

While many properties claim a room is a suite, The Mulia is one of the few that delivers!  I stayed in The Earl Suite and loved every single moment of it.  Each room is absolutely gigantic, with a modern interior design and cozy spaces to curl up and enjoy your holiday … both indoors and out.  You have a dining area, a living room, large bedroom and wardrobe, a compartmentalised but very open bathroom (complete with a loo with a heated toilet seat and more!) … and a large covered terrace that runs the length of the suite with a separate dining area, oversized chaise-lounge, and hot tub.

Floor-to-ceiling windows help guests stay at-one with the Indian Ocean throughout their entire stay.  Comfortable furniture helps us relax from the moment we step across the threshold.  Then wonderful amenities have been curated to enhance the stay.

Their around-the-clock butler service is a dream come true.  The butlers are all very friendly and can handle any request you throw their way.  From the unpacking service, the lovely way they set the table when dining in, or they way they’ll collect you from your suite to accompany you to a buggy when dining around the property or heading out in a private car … it’s perfect!

The Food

Given my personal passion for them, I fully admit that Sunday brunch was one of my favourite memories from my time at The Mulia (full review on just the brunch coming soon!).  Renowned as one of the top 5 brunches on the island, it is served in Soleil, their fabulous Mediterranean restaurant presided over by the charming and talented executive chef Corcoran O’Conner.  Don’t miss it!!!!

Dim sum lunch comes in 2nd on my list of favourite experiences.  Just look at the pics below from Table8, their Cantonese and Szechuan restaurant.  It was absolutely one of the best dim sum experiences of my life, and I’ve lived in China and Hong Kong!  It wasn’t just the variety and the quality but the little surprises like their lovely tea menu and the showmanship behind some of their tea service.

While you’re there, do yourself a favour and order in a few meals, too.  They make every meal feel like a special occasion when served on the terrace, with the sound of the Indian Ocean playing a truly memorable soundtrack.

The Mulia is the all-suites arm of the property, set apart from the massive 500-room Mulia Resort and also apart from the luxury, private villas.  The Lounge is the one restaurant reserved exclusively for guest staying at The Mulia or Mulia Villas.  The other restaurants are located within the 500-room Mulia Resort area of the property.  Just a bit of warning that the tranquility and exclusivity you feel within The Mulia (or Mulia Villas) or in The Lounge will not exists at the Resort … especially in the restaurants.  While their quality is world-class and they are wonderful from a culinary perspective, do prepare for yourself for the increased volume of voices and the added mayhem.

The Spa

Winning a Best Spas of the World award from Condé Nast Traveller magazine (USA) in 2015 pretty much says it all!  The menu is expansive and the quality of their spa will have you coming back day after day.  Click here to see their menu.
