Choosing the best holiday ‘home away from home’ can be a tough choice but the Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort makes it quite easy. They offer up the 5-star Sheraton luxury experience you know and love but they do it in a way that feels relaxed, unpretentious, and easy … perfect for your chilled island getaway! I basically spent my days there eating and drinking … come on a tour with me to see for yourself:
Why You’ll Love Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort
- The food, the food, THE FOOD! (see below!!)
- You feel a total escape from the mayhem of Kuta Beach from the moment you step onto the property. It is an oasis of luxury and pampering for the body and soul … yet conveniently located near some of the hottest lounges and restaurants in town.
- You’re right in front of the beach and adjacent to one of Bali’s best upscale shopping centres >> Beachwalk
- The Wine & Beer Tapas Pairing experience is something truly special and not to be missed.
Deluxe Ocean View Room
You can’t beat a lush tropical garden or ocean view while in Bali … and this room delivers both perfectly. These pretty, modern rooms feel very spacious thanks to their minimalist design and use of mirrors and glass walls. You’ll love the balcony, which I enjoyed in my pijamas with my morning iced latte and in the evening for a chilled happy hour moment with my Kindle! For families, this is the perfect category room as your king room can interconnect to a twin or double category room.
The ‘spa inspired’ bathroom showcases a large deep soak bathtub that is the perfect place to unwind (or wind UP for a little romance!). And it’s one of the best rooms I’ve stayed in on Bali with respect to lighting (which okay, is a girl thing, but it was nice to be able to put on makeup without wondering if I was putting on too much for a change!).
The only ‘complaint’ I had during my stay was that some of the amenities seemed to be the same quality and packaging as what they offer at Four Points Sheraton, and that they weren’t presented well (see below, the amenities are simply laid on the counter top)
Eat and Drink
If you’re a foodie, you’ll be in heaven at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort thanks to executive chef Rossano Renzelli, sous chef Agus, and the entire team!
The Lounge is the place to stop in for everything from coffee to killer cocktails … and for the Sheraton’s new Wine & Beer Tapas Pairing menu, which I sampled over the course of an afternoon. The pics below show one of each of the menu items with its perfectly paired boozy date. There’s lots to try for us carnivores … and two or three amazing dishes for vegetarians.
I’m probably biased when it comes to Bene because it has been one of my favourite restaurants since 2011 when I first tried it in India. The Italian cuisine is so fresh and prepared to such a high standard, it’s perfection. Their ‘100 Pasta’ menu will blow your mind, and keep you coming back for more. My favourite was the bucatini, which is generally hard to find but they had it …. and it was fresh, which I learned from my visit into the kitchen (check out the video tour above)! OHHHHH and don’t miss their tiramisu. I normally have a bite or two of dessert but I actually ate TWO portions of it!! Honestly, it was THAT GOOD!
Feast is the all day dining restaurant, which is also home to their infamous Sunday brunch (more on that coming next month!). When planning your stay, definitely be sure to include a Sunday because it is one of the top brunches on Bali!!
TIP: Do not miss the gorgonzola truffles!!! During my recent 1-month stay on Bali, that single bite (in the pics below, they are the small balls with the white wine) was tied for 1st Place as my #1 favourite ‘bite’ from the entire trip. And considering I reviewed a restaurant almost DAILY for a month … that is saying a lot. It’s a grape filled with gorgonzola cheese and then breaded. It’s truly mind-blowing!
Shine Spa
Open from 9am – 11pm, this pretty, open spa is a perfect daily escape to rejuvenate body and spirit! The rooms have high ceilings with a bright white theme, with sprinkles of colour, natural wood, and foliage here and there to please the senses. Their staff are all very sweet and highly skilled and they use a mix of products that smell divine!
I tried the Shine massage and had their coconut vanilla body scrub and I left there totally relaxed and with skin as soft as a baby’s bum 😉
