I had no idea what I was in for really when I set out on my first-ever safari but WOW am I now hooked! Sri Lanka is the perfect place to be at one with some of the world’s most wonderful wild life, and there’s no better spot than Yala National Park. I was staying at the warm, welcoming, and FAB-ulous Wild Coast Tented Lodge and guided by the charming Damien (a famous icon of the park) every step of the way. We saw loads of deer, elephants, birds, monkeys, and so much more.

We even had the good fortune of spotting 2 leopards! It was a perfect drive as you’ll see in the video.

Where to Stay in Yala – Wild Coast Tented Lodge

Okay, they had me at “Relais & Châteaux‎” but it was the personalised service (that was out-of-this world divine) and the old school perfection of Wild Coast Tented Lodge’s safari-esque tents they call coccons that really impressed me. I can’t imagine any more perfect place to stay. It’s in my top 3 of all time favourite Asia stays now!!!
