One of my favourite spots in Taipei for an amazing meal is M Cuisine. Located in the posh Xinyi District just around the corner from the infamous Taipei 101 Tower in the Citibank building, this Japanese restaurant offers up some of the freshest seafood and fish in the city.
Wine & Candlelight
Although I’ve only ever eaten at M Cuisine alone, I love tucking into a booth and soaking up the romantic ambiance on offer. From the candlelight and sultry use of red in the décor and lighting to the ample wine list…this restaurant tempts all the senses! They even have live music to help soothe away any stress from the day.
Each time I’ve dined at M Cuisine there have been tables of friends enjoying a fun dinner out, couples on a date, families and what looked like people at a business dinner. It is an undeniably romantic restaurant but it’s not just for couples in love.
What To Eat
Although they offer up a diverse array of Japanese cuisine in their à la carte menu, the real treat is their delightful set menus. For dinner they have three, priced at NT$1,800, $2,800 and $3,800. My favourite is the middle menu that is comprised of 9-courses, including sushi, sashimi, scallops, crab salad, fish, other assorted shellfish and seafood, as well as medium-rare beef and dessert.
They not only pride themselves on the quality and freshness of their food but also on its presentation. There is a symmetry and artistic beauty to the way each dish is plated. Not to mention the exquisite pairing of the sauces and extras that compliment each and every bite without over powering or over shadowing the food, which is appreciated most with the raw dishes because it shines a light on just how high quality it is.
M Cuisine is a MUST VISIT hotspot for any foodie or Japanese cuisine enthusiast! I promise you’ll have a truly memorable culinary and dining experience.
