Penang Shopping | Design Village, Malaysia’s Largest Outlet Mall

If you’re looking for awesome deals, a huge selection of brands to shop with, and want to do it in a lovely and brand-spanking-new mall … then head across the bridge to mainland Penang and spend the morning at Design Village.  This modern shopping centre just happens to be Malaysia’s largest outlet mall and they offer free shuttle bus rides from various spots on the island to make shopping that much easier for us!  I found the best deals at Design Village that I’ve found anywhere else in my travels around the country so it’s definitely worth the drive … and I can’t wait to return again on my next Penang trip.

Be sure to watch the video to the end for tips and info on the upcoming shop openings.  I’m not a huge shopper but I had the best time hunting deals on the 6 or 7 things I had set off to find (Mommy, you would have loved this place!!!).

I found really cute 20 ringgit sandals and that colourful hat below in Rip Curl, a super discounted digital ‘travel size’ luggage scale in The Travel Store, a colourful waterproof bag for my gear in Hypergear, a new Ferragamo perfume in Beauty Scents, a tank top for my daughter at Ed Hardy, and some home decor items at BVO for the new condo I’ve just moved into in KL.
