Sri Lanka Solo Travel | Taxi vs. Tuk Tuk in Weligama

When it comes to transportation for solo travellers in Sri Lanka (definitely in Weligama!), a taxi isn’t always the best choice. Not that they aren’t comfy but their fares are often optimised for two to four passengers, not for one. Sure taxis and car & drivers are still relatively inexpensive but compared to my home base of Malaysia, I’ve been quoted 2 – 3x what I would normally pay, which I have been paying. But on a day when I only had a few kilometre to travel to my next check-in, I opted for a fun tuk tuk ride. It was fast, breezy, and turned into a hella-fun Weligama Scenic Tour!

Join me as I travel by tuk tuk from Kumara private villa in the jungle of Weligama to the Relais & Chateaux property Cape Weligama.
