In my immediate neck of the woods in downtown Kuala Lumpur there is only one western cafe perfect for digital nomads and that’s The Avenue by The Good Cafe. This quaint restaurant is directly across the street from me in KLCC’s neighbourhood of Hampshire Park … in the lovely Tokio Marine Life Insurance building, just about two full (big!) city blocks away from Petronas Tower. In fact, it’s also the ONLY spot within a 7 minute walk from home for a latte, too!
My favourite thing about The Avenue is the counter that overlooks a pretty courtyard with waterfall. It’s mostly frequented by locals working in the surrounding buildings but for digital nomads it is an AWESOME home base because the counter has individual electrical outlets for keeping devices charged up
. They thought that area through perfectly for people like moi.
It’s charming and lovely, with diverse lunch dishes that change daily and are super affordable (and guaranteed to hit the spot)! My current obsession is their chicken and mash and damn is it tastyyyyyyy, check it out in the video, complete with piping hot gravy.
The Avenue is open for brekkie and lunch and I highly recommend it. It’s a perfect spot to refuel that is affordable and absolutely pleasant. The staff is friendly and very inviting and there is always a nice selection of music playing.
Set lunches range from around RM16-20 and their delicious laksa I tried in the video is only RM12,90. On my last visit I actually buckled and tried the dessert and wow was that a mistake. It was so delicious I swear I just about licked the plate (not good when you’re trying to lose weight I tell you!).

The Avenue is perfect for a quick lunch, an escape when you need to sit and just work like I do, or as the ideal fun spot for lunch with friends or colleagues. I’ve seen birthday parties there and I know that they provide CATERING services for corporate events and private functions.
