If you’re looking to have a local mobile phone number while on holiday in Bali, the easiest, fastest, and best place to buy it is right at Bali’s International Denpasar Airport before you leave the security-controlled arrivals area. Open all day, Telkomsel has a kiosk staffed by a friendly team who all speak English and are very quick at not only explaining the different plans but also in setting up your phone. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than 4 or 5 minutes to complete my transaction and walk away with a 100% active phone.
For me, I love the large data packages because I’m constantly uploading moments from my journey to social media, so I opt for the 8GB package with 50 minutes of local calls for Rp. 350,000. They also have smaller bundles to choose from so I’m sure you’ll find the plan that’s right for you.
